Our hidden brewery homestead
Church Street connects Southwold’s High Street to St Edmunds Church, with only our old brewery Malt Store standing in the way today. This historic route sees a row of small fisherman’s cottages flanked by a terrace that has a cool secret. Now just a façade, part of the Adnams brewery is hiding behind them. Our quaint self-catering house on Church Street remains intact though and offers a special place to stay, just a few steps from everything you could ever need in Southwold. You’ll be following in the steps of visiting brewers and guests of Adnams, but now it’s reserved just for you.
From its central location in the heart of the town, you’re perfectly placed to explore. the beach and beyond. And if catering for yourself ever feels too much hassle, then you have the High Street just a few steps away, with The Swan and The Crown, and our brewery tap, The Sole Bay, at the other end of the street.
With its own little courtyard for outdoor dining, often a rarity in Southwold, it offers an ideal escape.
To elevate your stay, our self-catering guests can access a selection of features and benefits offered to those who stay at The Swan, including seasonal flower arrangements, a bottle of Adnams Champagne or Adnams Prosecco, an Adnams Picnic Hamper for days out, Brewery Tours or Gin Tours for the adults or Lighthouse Tours for the whole family.
